Editorial Policy
How content is researched and reviewed
This site covers a health-related topic, so content should be clear about what comes from official sources, what is estimated, and what should never be treated as medical advice.

Our approach
We aim to keep this site simple, plain-English, and grounded in reputable UK health sources where possible.
We prefer official UK guidance and published survey data over recycled summaries from other blogs.
What we rely on
NHS guidance for adult BMI interpretation.
Published Health Survey for England data for the UK comparison estimate.
Widely accepted BMI formula standards used in UK clinical and public-health settings.
What we label clearly
What is official guidance.
What is an independent estimate created by this site.
What the calculator does not cover well, such as pregnancy or under-18s.
Updates and corrections
If source guidance changes, the relevant page should be reviewed and updated before the wording is changed on the public site.
If an error is found in a calculation or claim, the priority is to correct the page first, then update the review date.
Advertising and independence
If advertising is added, ads should never be allowed to hide, interrupt, or be confused with the main calculator content.
Advertising must not change the wording of the health information on this site.
